Rob Cantrell


Rob Cantrell founded Pulse Power in 2018 after leading three previous energy companies to success over the last 15 years.  Prior to Pulse Power, Rob served as Executive Vice President at Crius Energy, President at TriEagle Energy, and Senior Vice President at Champion Energy, all retail electric companies competing in the deregulated energy space.  He has presented at numerous industry events on a wide range of subjects, including sales channels, mergers and acquisitions, and general industry trends.  Rob’s previous companies have been recognized for their outstanding customer service, growth, and vendor relations. 

Prior to energy, Rob lead sales and marketing efforts for both large and start-up providers in the telecommunications industry, as well as  consulting roles in commercial real estate.  Rob holds an Economics degree from University of North Carolina and an MBA from University of Georgia.


Evan Hein

Vice President - Technology 

Evan Hein supports the Pulse Power team with more than 15 years of technology leadership. A life-long technologist, Evan began his career as a contractor developing corporate training websites and research survey systems in college at Texas A&M University, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Geography and led the IT team for a university department. He joins Pulse after working at Pariveda Solutions, a technology and strategy consulting firm, where he led projects business intelligence and custom development projects for multiple retail energy clients, as well as power generation, oil and gas, industrial distribution, construction, and other industries.

Evan and his wife Erin live in Kingwood with their four young children. Outside the office, Evan supports his children's school and enjoys volunteering as an official with the neighborhood swim team. He still enjoys developing apps, and tinkering with upcoming technologies like block-chain, virtual reality, and 3D printing


Marta Odom

Vice President - Operations

Marta Odom brings hands-on retail energy experience to Pulse Power. Her expertise include overseeing and managing operations for residential and commercial business in ERCOT, PJM, NEISO, NYISO, MISO and CAISO. In her previous roles she was responsible for operations of multiple retail electric and gas suppliers. She held key roles in successfully managing new market entries, acquisitions, systems and third party vendor implementation projects as well as certifications and connectivity testing.

Marta also served as Director of Client Services for a customer care and billing platform, serving a large number of retail suppliers and utilities. Her responsibilities included supporting clients, launching on boarding processes, and system conversions. Earlier in her career, Marta led a call center and daily operations for a large web hosting company, supporting fraud detection teams and assisting in mergers. Marta holds a degree in Economics she earned in Krakow, Poland.



Anthony Rhodes 

Vice President - Supply and Risk

Anthony Rhodes is responsible for risk management across all of Pulse Power. His role includes interacting with all front to back office roles through valuing, managing, and reporting on risk related aspects of the business. Anthony began his career in the electric cooperative space working as an analyst in the planning department for Arkansas Electric Cooperative Corporation. Anthony made the move to Texas and the deregulated space in early 2010 where he’s been ever since.

Prior to joining Pulse, Anthony held multiple positions at Champion Energy Services and most recently was Vice President of Supply and Pricing. Anthony earned a Bachelor of Science in Applied Mathematics from the University of Central Arkansas. He enjoys spending time with his family, staying active through city sports leagues, and cheering on all the Houston sports teams.


Tom Schmidt

Vice President - Legal and Regulatory

A native Houstonian, Tom Schmidt is the founder of Schmidt Law Firm, PLLC, he practiced at two of Houston’s premier commercial litigation boutique firms—Hicks, Thomas & Lilienstern, L.L.P., and Clements, O’Neill, Pierce, & Nickens. Mr. Schmidt’s law practice includes general litigation and corporate formation and maintenance. His litigation practice involves shareholder and partnership disputes, contract disputes, oil and gas matters, franchise litigation, consumer fraud, personal injury, and general commercial litigation.

In the course of representing new and small businesses in corporate matters, he has formed various corporate entities, provided counsel with regard to corporate operating agreements, assisted start-up companies in raising capital, and served as an adviser to various boards of directors. Mr. Schmidt currently serves as general counsel and a director of several companies. He received a bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science/International Politics from the University of Pennsylvania. He is also an Honors graduate of the University of Texas School of Law, where he served as an Associate Editor of the Texas Law Review.


Phillip Wills

Vice President - Finance

Phillip Wills has more than 25 years of professional experience in Finance and Accounting, with a focus on strategic and operational planning; private and public offerings in early stage start-ups through international public companies across multiple industries. He has held senior management positions at DHL Express, International Paint LLC, Tenaris, Energy and Exploration Partners LLC, Magnum Hunter Resources Corporation and Sturrock and Robson USA Inc. Phillip's experience includes raising over $375 million through venture capital, major commercial banks and institutions, both public and private equity and debt offerings, and participating in acquisitions and divestitures valued at over $1.4 billion.

Phillip holds a B.S. degree in Business Administration from Regis University and holds Series 7, 63 and 65 Securities Licenses.
